Please read these terms carefully before placing an order.

1. About Me

Just Shirley is my sole trader business specialising in handcrafted crystal and gemstone jewellery. All items are made by my hand in my home, and my actual cottage.

When you shop with Just Shirley, you are buying directly from the maker. This is a genuine cottage industry — not a faceless corporation. You deal with me, Shirley, directly.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order through this website, or by continuing to browse and use this site, you confirm that you accept these Terms & Conditions and agree to comply with them.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website or place an order.

3. Products & Natural Variation

Important — please read carefully:

Every piece of Just Shirley jewellery is handmade using natural gemstones and crystals. No two stones are alike. Natural stones vary in colour, pattern, size, shape, and markings. This is not a defect — it is a feature of genuine, natural materials.

The photographs on this website are representative of the style and stone types used, but your piece will not be identical to the item shown in the photograph. Each piece is unique.

3.1 Custom & Personalised Orders

If you request any customisation — such as a different size, a different stone combination, additional beads, or a specific style — please be aware that:

Changing the size or style will alter the overall appearance, pattern and layout of the piece
Additional stones or silver spacer beads may be required to accommodate size changes
The finished item may look different from the standard product photographs
Custom and personalised items are made to your specification and cannot be returned or refunded under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Extra Charges) Regulations 2013, unless they are faulty (see Section 7)

If you are unsure about any customisation, please contact me before ordering and I will be happy to discuss your options.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (£) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable
As a small business, Just Shirley is currently below the VAT registration threshold. Prices shown are the full price you pay
Payment is processed securely via PayPal. I do not see, handle or store your payment card or bank details at any point. All financial transactions are governed by PayPal's terms of service
Your order is confirmed once payment has been successfully received by PayPal
I reserve the right to amend prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed

5. Orders & Availability

All orders are subject to availability. As items are handmade, some products may take longer to prepare than others
I aim to dispatch standard items within 3–5 working days. Custom orders may take longer — I will advise you at the time of ordering
I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including suspected fraudulent activity. If I cancel your order, you will receive a full refund
In the unlikely event that a stone or material is temporarily unavailable, I will contact you to discuss alternatives or offer a refund

6. Delivery & Shipping

Orders are shipped via Royal Mail from the United Kingdom
UK delivery is typically 2–5 working days after dispatch
Free UK shipping on orders over £30
International shipping is available — delivery times vary by destination. Additional customs duties or import taxes may apply and are the responsibility of the buyer
I am not responsible for delays caused by Royal Mail, customs processing, or events beyond my control
Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with photographs

7. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Extra Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. This is your "cooling-off period".

To exercise this right, contact me at hello@justshirley.co.uk stating your wish to cancel.

7.1 Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The right to cancel does not apply to:

Custom or personalised items made to your specific requirements (e.g. custom bracelet sizes, bespoke stone combinations)
Sealed goods that have been unsealed after delivery where unsealing makes them unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds (where applicable)

7.2 Returning Standard Items

Items must be returned in their original condition, unworn and in their original packaging
You are responsible for the cost of return postage
I recommend using a tracked delivery service, as I cannot be held responsible for items lost in return transit
Once I have received and inspected the returned item, I will process your refund within 14 days
Refunds will be issued via PayPal to your original payment method

8. Faulty Goods (Consumer Rights Act 2015)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If your item is faulty, you have the following rights:

Within 30 days — you are entitled to a full refund for faulty goods
Within 6 months — I will offer a repair or replacement. If this is not possible, you are entitled to a full refund
After 6 months — you must prove the item was faulty at the time of delivery. If proven, I will offer a repair or replacement, or a partial refund

Please note: natural wear and tear, accidental damage, or breakage caused by misuse (e.g. stretching the bracelet excessively, exposure to chemicals or water) does not constitute a fault.

Regarding natural stone variation: Differences in stone colour, pattern, or markings between the product photograph and your received item are not considered a fault. This is the nature of genuine, natural gemstones and is clearly stated in Section 3 above.

9. Care Instructions

To help your jewellery last:

Remove before bathing, swimming, exercising or sleeping
Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, hairspray and household chemicals
Store in a cool, dry place — ideally in the pouch or box provided
Natural stone beads can chip or crack if dropped on hard surfaces — handle with care
Stretch cord will naturally weaken over time with daily wear. This is normal and not a manufacturing fault

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, designs, logos and graphics — is the property of Just Shirley and is protected by UK copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute or use any content without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

Just Shirley's liability to you shall not exceed the value of the goods purchased. I am not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of my products or website.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

12. Complaints & Disputes

If you have a complaint, please contact me first at hello@justshirley.co.uk. I will always try to resolve matters quickly and fairly — you are dealing with a real person, not a call centre.

If I am unable to resolve your complaint, you may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. For online purchases, you can also use the EU/UK Online Dispute Resolution platform.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to These Terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page. Continued use of the website after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
