Unakite
Meaning & Jewellery.

Learn what Unakite is, how its colour and pattern form, what to check when buying it, how to care for it and how it is used in jewellery.

Unakite bead example

This guide separates established mineral names from jewellery trade names. Material, treatment and source can vary between suppliers, so the exact beads in a finished piece should always take priority.

What is Unakite?

Unakite is an altered granite made mainly of green epidote, pink feldspar and quartz. It is a rock with a distinctive green-and-pink mosaic rather than a single mineral.

Colour, pattern and what to look for

The balance of salmon-pink feldspar and olive-green epidote changes from bead to bead. Quartz can add small translucent areas and extra sparkle.

Traditional meanings of Unakite

In crystal traditions, Unakite is associated with love. Meanings vary between traditions and can be a personal way of choosing a gift or marking an intention.

These associations describe beliefs and symbolism, rather than established medical effects. Jewellery does not treat health conditions.

Care and buying notes for Unakite

Durability varies with the mix of minerals, but it is generally suitable for occasional jewellery wear. Avoid hard impacts, acids and abrasive storage.

For treatment questions, read the guide to natural, dyed and imitation gemstones and ask Shirley about the materials in a particular design. If you want a different combination or size, use the custom crystal bracelet builder.
